On 6 March 2020, Primary Industries Minister Damian O’Connor declared the drought affecting the Gisborne, Manawatu, Rangitikei, and Tararua districts to be a medium-scale adverse event.

To assist farmers, we're exercising discretion to allow late deposits and early withdrawal from the income equalisation scheme.
