Records make it easier to work out your income, expenses, GST (if you’re registered), meet your employer obligations (if you have staff) and confirm your accounts. If we audit you, we’ll check these records. You need to keep these records for 7 years.

Records must be in English or Māori, unless we have given you written authority to keep them in another language. You need to keep these records for at least 7 years.
