E-File is an online service that lets you manage your clients' accounts with us. The benefits of E-File include faster transactions, improved efficiency and reduced costs.
What you can do with E-File
You can use E-File to manage your clients' accounts online. You'll be able to send us:
- income tax returns, donation tax credit claims and GST returns
- personal tax summary requests or confirmations for back years (2014 to 2018)
You can also receive a summary of earnings through E-File.
Sending correspondence using E-File
You can send us correspondence using E-File on its own or attached to a client's tax return. Attaching correspondence to your client's income tax return will stop us sending a notice of assessment until we've dealt with your correspondence.
Before we can process your correspondence you'll need to have included the:
- client's IRD and location numbers
- date of the letter
- tax type the correspondence relates to
- E-File destination code.
